Shout! - The Mod Musical
SHOUT! flips through the years like a musical magazine and takes you back to the music, the fashion and the freedom of the 60s! This smashing revue tracks five groovy gals as they come of age during those liberating days that made England swing! Join this non-stop journey through the infectious and soulful pop anthems and ballads that made household names of stars like Petula Clark, Dusty Springfield and Lulu. SHOUT! uses letters to an advice columnist, true confessions, quizzes and advertisements as a frame for terrific new arrangements of such chart-topping hits as To Sir With Love, Downtown, You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me, Son of A Preacher Man, and Goldfinger.
With its irresistible blend of hip-swiveling hits, eye-popping fashions and psychedelic dances from the 60’s, this fun-filled musical will make you want to throw your head back and SHOUT!
The show is set in London between the early 1960s and 1970, and follows the lives of five women in their 20s (The Red Girl), 30s (Green, Blue, and Yellow girls) and 40s (Orange girl) who all face tough situations, usually involving relationships. Throughout the story, all five women send letters to Gwendolyn Holmes, who works for the magazine "Shout!" in an advice column and who gives them advice on how to deal with these situations.
The Yellow girl is the only American character in the show, who traveled all the way to Britain in order to see Paul McCartney. The Orange woman is shown as a full grown woman who is married, in her forties, and is starting to suspect her husband is cheating on her. The Blue girl is gorgeous and wealthy, and while she can go on and on about how perfect her life is, she does face some questions regarding her sexuality. The Green girl is the classic sexually-charged "racey" character in the show, always hooking up with men and throwing innuendos around. Finally, the Red girl is the youngest and most hopeful character; she is a bit hopeless in the beginning, stating she is not good-looking like other girls, until the man of her dreams comes along.
Thrilling Pulp
Five aspiring writers enter a contest to have their original stories published by Thrilling Pulp Magazine, an infamous if somewhat disreputable magazine that specializes in trashy disposable fiction. As each of the five writers compose their stories, they are enacted by the other four. The five stories include “A Bullet for Budd” – a noir crime thriller, “Brain Thieves from the Fourth Dimension” – a science fiction drama, “Dust-Up at Desperate Sands” – A Western Saga, “Captain Slaughter and the Revenge of Amorphia” – a British espionage tale, and “Prescription Romance” a medical romance. As the five stories merge and blend, the writers slowly begin to realize that they themselves have become the focus of someone else’s original pulp novel.

Wells, The Wheels of Chance is a Music Hall celebration of a world turned upside down by the simplest and most egalitarian invention in the history of mankind, the bicycle.
